BBB Offers Advice To Fans Hoping To Buy Tickets To The Rolling Stones Concert
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Tickets for The Rolling Stones concert at Heinz Field don't go on sale for another 12 days, but digital scalpers are already out trying to take advantage of concert-goers.
StubHub is a website that provides a service for buyers and sellers of tickets to sporting events and concerts; including The Rolling Stones concert on June 20.
And the prices some folks are asking will knock your socks off; anywhere from the high $200s to almost $9,000 for four tickets.
Is that legal? The Better Business Bureau says yes.
"It's whatever the marketplace will bear. It's up to the individual to make those decisions," said the Better Business Bureau's Warren King.
When tickets go on sale April 13, prices will range from $69 to $375.
"I like The Rolling Stones, but I don't think it's worth it for a few hours for the concert to spend that kind of money; that's just me," said Bob Pender, of Saxonburg.
If you decide to buy online, the Better Business Bureau has a little advice - know who you are dealing with and make sure they have a 100 percent guarantee.
King also says, "We also suggest that if you are buying online, whether it's StubHub or anyone else, check and read all of the fine print."
Ticket scalping is legal in Pennsylvania. Gov. Ed Rendell made it so back in 2007 when he signed a new law allowing anyone to legally resell event tickets online.
