Baby Due In January Can't Wait, Is Born On Christmas Eve

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Some local parents have an extra special Christmas gift this year, a new baby boy.

Adam and Megan Smith, from Washington County, already had three daughters.

The baby wasn't due until after the New Year, but he wouldn't wait and was born Christmas Eve night at Jefferson Hospital.

"I was determined to make it to New Year's, as far away from the holidays as possible, because our due date was Jan. 1," said Megan. "I just swore I was going to make it to the 3rd or the 4th, but he had different plans."

The couple says the delivery date is special because their wedding anniversary is July 26, and this was the 26th baby born at Jefferson Hospital's obstetrics unit since it opened in November.
