Arnold Palmer Celebrated In Three-Part Golf Special
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- The Golf Channel will air a three-part special on golf legend and Latrobe native Arnold Palmer Sunday through Monday.
Golf Channel Associate Producer Mason Seay told Mike Dudurich that it's a project that's been in the planning stages for two years.
"We're hoping it's the most definitive look of a man's life that's been so well documented and so well known," Seay said. "Lots of new stuff hopefully that you'll learn from watching 'Arnie' that you didn't know."
Seay told Dudurich that Palmer is still a relevant figure at 84-years-old.
"He's still No. 3 on the list of highest earning golfers behind Tiger (Woods) and Phil (Mickelson)," Seay said. "These stats are just a little parts of it because of what he does with his hospitals, what he does with the Latrobe Brewery there. We did a great shoot at the Latrobe Brewery, and he's partly responsible for saving that and keeping that going."
Seay told Dudurich that the three hours will be filled with 18 stories about everything that makes Palmer an interesting figure, such as his love of flying and his time in college.
