Appeal By Ex-Prosecutors Named In Lawsuit Challenged
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A man who filed suit after spending nearly a quarter-century in prison before his double murder conviction was overturned is seeking dismissal of an appeal by two former prosecutors named in the suit.
The (Uniontown) Herald-Standard reports that 61-year-old David Munchinski's attorney has argued to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that the ex-prosecutors weren't granted immunity before and shouldn't expect it now.

Munchinski was convicted in 1986 in the December 1977 shooting deaths of Raymond Gierke and James Peter Alford at a Bear Rocks cabin. A judge dismissed the convictions in 2011, citing what he called "staggering" violations of disclosure rules.
Ex-Fayette County prosecutors Gerald Solomon and Ralph Warman - now senior judges - are appealing a decision denying them immunity from allegations of wrongful prosecution.
