'If He Wanted To Hurt That Girl, He Would Have': Attorney Of Terrelle Pryor Calls Girlfriend, Other Women Aggressors
BEAVER COUNTY (KDKA) -- Terrelle Pryor's girlfriend and the other women involved in this weekend's near-fatal stabbing were the aggressors, Pryor's lawyer says.
Pryor's agents and attorney Stephen Colafella held a news conference on Wednesday in Beaver. Pryor's mother also attended but did not speak.
Colafella said Pryor was not the aggressor early Saturday morning at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex in the North Side, where Pryor was stabbed by his girlfriend Shalaya Briston after an argument.
"If he wanted to hurt that girl, he would have," Colafella said. "He had zero incentive for him to want to attack her. He was home sleeping when they showed up."
On Tuesday evening, Pryor shared a now-deleted picture of himself on Instagram, saying he is out of ICU. He had bandages on his chest and left arm.

Pryor and Briston repeatedly got into verbal arguments before the alleged incident, and Pryor left Briston and two other women to go back to the apartment when they went to a nightclub. When the three including Briston returned to the apartment, the women told police that Pryor "grabbed…Briston and began arguing with her."
Pryor also hit one of the women, the police report said. The two women tried to break apart the fight before Pryor was allegedly stabbed by Briston. Those women are not facing charges yet, though Colafella wants them charged.
Colafella said his client told the women they needed to leave, and Briston then hit Pryor in the face before the other girls got involved.
Colafella then said when Pryor tried to deescalate the situation, the altercation spilled into the apartment and Pryor was stabbed.
"I want to make it clear we are here today because Terrelle Pryor was in no way an aggressor ... this was a situation that occurred and was initiated as a result of the violent behavior and attitudes of the women who came to his home," Pryor's lawyer said.
Briston's attorney, Lee Rothman, says his client was acting in self-defense on the night of the stabbing. Bail was denied Wednesday for Briston, who is being charged with criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault.
"It was attempted murder," Colafella said. "It wasn't self-defense."

Pryor left the hospital earlier on Wednesday after ge was arraigned on his simple assault charge and released on bond. But he returned to the hospital after realizing he didn't feel well.
Pryor lost 3 1/2 liters of blood after being stabbed in the arm and shoulder by a kitchen knife, Colafella said.
The knife hit a vein in his chest that had to be tied, Colafella said. Pryor's lungs also filled up with blood, and a tube was inserted to drain the excess blood.
"Within a few minutes, he wasn't going to make it.
"It looks like he is going to make a full recovery," Colafella added.
