1 mother and six children displaced after house fire in Washington County

MONONGAHELA, PA. (KDKA) - A mother and six children are without a home after it went up in flames on Friday night in Washington County. 

The fire occurred along Parkinson Street in Monongahela. Pictures showed flames bursting out of the home when crews arrived. The family was not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

According to the Monongahela fire chief, the fire started in the back of the home. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown. 

Clothing donations such as men's shirts (large and extra large), adult small-medium shirts, shoes (13C; men's 7; men's 9.5; men's 13; women's 9.5), men's jeans (32/30; 36/32), youth jeans (size-6 or size-7), youth-sized shirts (6/7; 14/16), size-34A and size-34C bras, and small-to-medium-sized underwear are also appreciated by family members. 

Any donations for the victims can be dropped off at 1110 Connellsville Road, Fayette City, Pa.15438 at the garage behind the house.
