3 Teens In Custody In Connellsville Home Invasion
CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) -- Three teenagers are in custody in connection with a home invasion in Fayette County that left an elderly man with serious injuries when state police say he was pistol whipped.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. Friday at a home in the 600-block of East Francis Avenue in Connellsville.
According to state police, the teens – armed with pistols - rang the doorbell at the back of the house and when 79-year-old Caesar Gaspari answered, they forced their way inside.
Investigators say one of the teens hit Gaspari in the head twice with a gun and the other two locked 35-year-old Lisa Gaspari in a bedroom.
They stole a safe and then took off on foot, state police said.
The man was taken to Highlands Hospital where he was treated for two severe lacerations to the forehead.
Connellsville Police tracked the teens, ages 14, 16 and 17, to a home in the 100-block of West Cedar Street where they were taken into custody.
They were taken to a juvenile placement facility.
The investigation continues.
