2 Men Already In Washington Co. Jail Now Facing Homicide Charges

WASHINGTON (KDKA) - Two men have been charged with murder in Washington County.

Tavian Hooper, 18, and Jamaal Greene, 18, are in the Washington County Jail, facing homicide and criminal conspiracy charges among others.

Greene was arrested the day after a woman was shot and killed in Washington last month. Hooper was arrested on drug charges on May 26.

On May 4, police say a group of young women and one man were walking in the 1100 block of Bruce Street around 9:40 p.m., when a vehicle approached them and started shooting. Police believe a young man in the group was the intended target.

Alexis Barnett, 19, of Washington, was shot in the back. She was taken to Washington Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Jasmine Young, 21, was shot in the leg.  She was released from the hospital the next day.

At this point, police have not said if Hooper and Greene are being charged in Barnett's death.
