1 teen dead, another teen injured after Washington County shooting
SOUTH FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) — An 18-year-old girl was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Washington County over the weekend.
The two girls were found shot on Saturday night on the side of Jolly School Road in South Franklin Township.
"Those individuals actually went on the road and saw two females," Trooper Rocco Gagliardi said. "One was in the middle of the roadway. One was closer to the shoulder of the roadway."
Annalaya Wilkerson, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was shot in the chest. The other victim was flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh in critical condition. Her identity has not been released.
State police are investigating the shooting.
"We have to cover a lot of ground because this vehicle and or actors and victims came from somewhere else, just not Jolly School Road," Gagliardi said.
It's still unclear whether the two victims were walking along the road when they were shot or were shot and then dropped there.
