1 Person Dead In Murrysville Crash

MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) -- One person was killed in a crash in Westmoreland County Friday afternoon.

Crews rushed to Meadowbrook Road near Trafford Road in Murrysville around 3 p.m.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office identifies the victim as 59-year-old Robert Hand of Murrysville. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 p.m.

The cause and manner of his death are still pending.

According to the Coroner's Office, Hand's vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, left the road, and then crashed into a utility pole and tree before coming to a stop in a wooded area.

Hand was the only one in the car.

An autopsy is set for Saturday.

Murrysville Police are investigating the accident, but the Coroner's Office says speed and cell phone use are not considered to be factors in the crash.
