1 Of 3 Suspects Arrested For Robbing Pizza Delivery Man

SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) -- Police arrested one man and continue to search for two more in connection to a robbery that took place on the South Side early Saturday morning.

The robbery took place around 12:30 a.m. outside Mamma Mia Pizzeria, located in the 500-block of E. Carson Street. According to police, the delivery man was walking out of the shop with a delivery order when three black males approached him and demanded money.

Police say one suspect punched the victim in the stomach and one exposed a gun in his waistband. Two of the suspects grabbed the food and all three fled as an officer approached.

Officers later found the three suspects near S. 9th Street and E. Carson Street. The suspects fled again, pursued by an officer and a K-9. The officer and K-9 caught up to two of the suspects in a parking lot. Police say the suspects ignored orders from the officer, so the K-9 was deployed. The dog caught and bit one of the suspects on Selby Way.

The suspect -- later identified as 20-year-old Duane Raymere Coleman, of Arlington Heights -- was taken into custody and sent to UPMC Mercy. Officers later learned Coleman had an active warrant out of Westmoreland County.

Officers were unable to locate the other two suspects. It is unknown if Coleman was the suspect who was armed.
