1 Killed In House Explosion In Eastern Ohio

SHADYSIDE, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a man has been killed in a house explosion in eastern Ohio.

It happened Monday afternoon in the Belmont County village of Shadyside, just outside of Wheeling, West Virginia.

Authorities say a propane gas leak sparked an explosion that sent the roof of the home and other debris flying into the street. Some nearby homes were also damaged.

The explosion then caused a massive fire.

The victim's name has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.

Residents in the neighborhood say they felt their doors and windows rattle.

A nearby high school was evacuated as a precaution.

Authorities say they believe the leak has been contained. They continue to investigate.
