"Pinocchio" villa for sale
The Italian villa where children's classic "Pinocchio" was written in 1883 has been put on the market for more than $25 million (more than 19 million euros).
The 32,600 square foot main villa is set in the ruins of a fortress in Collodi, Tuscany, about 40 miles from Florence.
Potential buyers can also expect to get a summer house, a farm, a restaurant, a baths building and even a butterfly house with their purchase.

Author Carlo Collodi spent his childhood at Villa Garzoni, which has become known as "Pinocchio's villa" or the "hundred windows."
There is space for 40 bedrooms.

Thousands of visitors tour the building each year. Realtor Lionard Luxury Real Estate is marketing the villa to foreign buyers who are willing to invest in maintaining the extensive property.

The gardens were created around 1650 by the lucchese architect Diodati for the Roman marquis Garzoni and took 170 years to complete.

The garden has been compared to such impressive European gardens as Versailles, Fontainbleau and the Schonbrunn of Vienna.
