Afghanistan: Heightened Security

The body of Bobbi Kristina Brown leaves Whigham Funeral Home following a funeral service on August 3, 2015, in Newark, New Jersey. The daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub at her home on January 31, 2015, and died July 26, 2015 at the age of 22 after an extended hospital stay.

Hitchhiking Robot
The hitchBOT is seen posed next to Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and a portion of the Trans-Canada Highway. The Hitchhiking robot, which had found friends and fame traveling the world, was found on August 1, 2015, beaten and headless in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood.

Indonesia: Volcanic Ritual

Russia: Reindeer Herd
Herders are seen amidst antlers while working with reindeer at a camping ground, some 200 km (124 miles) northeast of Naryan-Mar, the administrative center of Nenets Autonomous Area, far northern Russia. People, including local herders and members of their families, gathered at the site to mark Reindeer Day, a professional holiday of reindeer breeding workers, which is celebrated annually on August 2 in the region.
Thailand: King Rama I
