Kennedy Center Honors 2015
The 2015 Kennedy Center Honorees singer-songwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas, actress and singer Rita Moreno, conductor Seiji Ozawa and actress Cicely Tyson are feted "for their lifetime contributions to American culture" at weekend festivities in Washington, D.C., Dec. 5-6, 2015. The rock band the Eagles deferred their honor to 2016.

A black-tie dinner at the State Department Dec. 5 kicked off the weekend festivities followed by a reception in the White House and an event at the Kennedy Center on Sunday, Dec. 6 hosted by Stephen Colbert, which will be broadcast by CBS on Dec. 29.

There are a total of six honorees, but the rock band the Eagles deferred their honor to 2016 because one band member, Glenn Frey, recently had surgery.
