Hot dudes reading, an unlikely social media hit
The wildly popular Instagram feed Hot Dudes Reading is all about just that: Photos of good looking men enjoying books. (The feed has a "No Kindles" policy.)
Since launching about a month ago, the account has gained 400,000 followers thanks to photos like this one, of a young man reading Alex Garland's Tesseract on the No. 6 train in New York.
Reading in the sun
Some photos, such as this one from California, were re-posted on the Hot Dudes Reading Instagram account with permission from the men featured.
Their participation is helping to promote a partnership between Hot Dudes Reading and First Book, a charity that helps introduce reading to at-risk youth.
Sly photography
The owners of the Hot Dudes Reading account recently posted a message on Facebook reaching out to the photos' subjects, offering to take down any snapshot that made them uncomfortable. No takers so far.
Bundled up in Brooklym
The creators of the Hot Dudes Reading account are hoping to raise $50,000 for the charity First Book via an IndieGoGo campaign.
