Inside Istanbul's horse hospital
Istanbul's state-of-the-art Veliefendi horse hospital (equine clinic) treats hundreds of horses and does everything from DNA tests to arthroscopic surgery to castrations.
In the past, a broken leg could mean a horrible fate for a racehorse with injured horses getting put down or put out to pasture. They now can get nursed back to health at hospital's such as this one run by the Jockey Club of Turkey.
