Ariel Sharon laid to rest

Israel paid homage to Sharon at two funeral services held on Monday for a man hailed as a war hero at home but seen by many in the Arab world as a war criminal.

A military ceremony for Sharon was held in Latrun before he was buried near Sycamore Farm, the former Prime Minister's residence, beside the grave of his wife Lili.
Sharon died on Saturday at age 85 in Tel Hashomer a hospital near Tel Aviv and had been in a coma since Jan. 4, 2006.
