Young Boy Taken To Hospital After Sand Caves In On Him At Jersey Shore

SURF CITY, N.J., (CBS) -- According to Surf City Police, a report of a 12-year-old boy buried in the sand was made around 1:45 p.m. on Monday.

Two lifeguards responded to the incident along with some beachgoers. Police were called to the scene.

According to authorities, the lifeguards and the bystanders pulled the boy out of the sand and administered CPR. When authorities arrived, the boy was breathing.

He was transported by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital. CBS 3 Eyewitness News is told he is in stable condition.
