Police Searching For Killer After 50-Year-Old Woman Stabbed To Death In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Questions and concern remain Friday night after a woman was stabbed to death inside a home in West Philadelphia. The search for her killer continues.

Police are working to find out who's responsible for the heinous crime. Neighbors say they never heard anything that would signal something was wrong.

"It was just a very active scene, from lieutenants to sergeants, highway patrol. Just a lot of law enforcement," neighbor Liona Spann said.

Neighbors described the scene as Philadelphia Police responded to a home where a woman was found stabbed to death on the 4400 block of Parrish Street.

"My neighbors in here are older and they're elderly so it's just a little shocking, but I'm not surprised with anything that happens around here," Spann said.

Around noon on Friday, a 50-year-old woman was found with multiple stab wounds in a home. According to police, the homeowner was not there at the time, but had been allowing the victim to stay with him.

"Whoever killed her, the people who went in there with her, threw clothes over her," a neighbor said

Residents who asked not to be on camera said they've spoken with the homeowner, who's still in shock after the gruesome discovery.

"I hope they can see who went in there and who did it," said one neighbor. "I hope they found out who did it because no one had to die like that."

As police work to find out who's responsible, the community is hoping something can be done to stop the violence.

"I hate to see my people just go like that," a neighbor said.

If you know who may be responsible, Philadelphia Police would like to speak with you.
