Winter Rewind...Just For A Day
By Kathy Orr
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Wind Advisory continues until 11am for our entire region, as winds gust to 50mph.
Thursday morning, with temperatures in the 20's, and brutal winds, wind chills will be in the single digits in Philadelphia and its immediate suburbs. As you travel north the "feel like" readings will fall below zero!
The powerful morning wind may prove damaging. Weak tree limbs and power lines could fall.
This will result in scattered power outages, as well.
30 mile–an-hour gusts will continue into Thursday evening, making for another cold night. But temperatures will bounce back into the upper 40's Friday, upper 50's Saturday, then back to the 40's on Sunday as we celebrate the 244th Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The jury is still out regarding St. Patrick's Day, Monday. Our American guidance (18Z GFS model) keeps a storm to our south, while the European model (Euro) brings us some snow… Maybe they can settle this at the pub.
Will keep you posted on next week's developments. In the meantime, stay warm!
