What's New At The Shore: Nightlife and More Nightlife

By Hadas Kuznits

ATLANTIC CITY N.J. (CBS) -- There's no shortage of nightlife activities at the Jersey shore this summer, according to Judy Ludavico, with the Atlantic City Alliance.

"You'll notice that some of the biggest names in show business are playing in the casinos almost every weekend -- from Diana Ross [in publicity photo below], to the band Perry, to Hall and Oates," she tells KYW Newsradio.

Courtney Birmingham, with Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, agrees.

"We've got a really great lineup this summer -- everyone from America and Herman's Hermits to Mac McAnally, to Al Jardine of the Beach Boys with his Endless Summer Band, as well as a bunch of country (music):  Danielle Bradbery, and David Nail, and the Swon Brothers."

Sherry Amos, with the Claridge, says her hotel will have resident performers.

"(In) our show room, we're featuring the Edwards Twins, who are two identical twin brothers and they impersonate over 100 stars including Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Cher."

Wildwood deputy mayor Pete Byron says his town will have DJ beach parties:  "There's a new type of music, which is electronic dance music, which has really taken the world by storm."

Ivan Kane, of Royal Jelly at the Revel, will have DJs and dancing, too.

"All the biggest DJs come to Atlantic City for the summer," he says.  "They're here all year round, but the summer's when this place kind of explodes."

Kane says they're launching a new rock-and-roll burlesque show, and during the day, "The Royal Jelly dancers actually teach burlesque lessons on Saturday and Sunday afternoons."
