New surveillance video released in West Philly shooting that hurt 3 teens

Police search for 4 people in connection with West Philly shooting that hurt 3 teens

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are looking for four men who they believe injured three teenagers in a shootout in West Philadelphia Monday.

Police say they believe this was a targeted attack toward two 16-year-olds and one 13-year-old. Now two of the victims are fighting for their lives as police try to find the group that did this.

In the new surveillance video, four suspects can be seen firing their guns several times in broad daylight before running away.

"At this time, we are asking for help," police captain James Kearney said. "We need the community's help."

Police say on Monday just after 4 p.m. the 15th block of North Frazier Street became the scene of a shootout injuring three teens.

"The 13-year-old male was shot one time in his abdomen, a second 16-year-old was found shot five times throughout his body and a 16-year-old third male was found in the rear of 5600 block of Landsdale Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to his body," Kearney said.

Captain Kearney says the teens are recovering at a nearby hospital. He says his team found several pieces of evidence, including bullets and a handgun from the scene.

"It includes 45 caliber rounds, 45 spent cartridge casings, 223's casings from an automatic gun," Kearney said.

Police tell CBS News Philadelphia they're working to release more surveillance video that shows the suspects getting out of a gray Honda CRV before the shooting.

"We're also aware that state police on March 22nd, recovered a burned-out Honda CRV at Chamounix Drive in Belmont," Kearney said.

Officials are unsure whether that's the same car involved in the shootout.

Police haven't made any arrests, but they're asking the public to come forward with any information that could help in their investigation.
