Wednesday's Child: Samira
By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Samira is a very active 12-year-old.
"I like to play basketball, jump rope, swim, kickball," she says. "We just get out there to have fun and play the games. I don't really care if I win or lose, it's fun. And it keeps me active."
But Samira is more than just fun and games:
"I like math."
The schoolwork, she says, just comes naturally for her.
"If you know your multiplication, you can take that and know your division also. Same thing with subtraction and addition. And then it's just like that (snaps fingers) -- piece of cake!"
With a bright future ahead, she's looking for a forever family to support her.
"To spend time with me sometimes. I wouldn't want all of the attention -- even though I like having attention a lot. I wouldn't want all of the attention. I just want them to buy me stuff I need, give me food, have a roof over my head, and that's it."
