Wednesday's Child: Makayla

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Visiting the KYW Newsradio studios recently, Makayla impressed us with her rendition of "Halo," by Beyoncé.

Makayla, 11, says she wants to be a singer when she grows up -- or a dancer, a lawyer, or a foot doctor.

"I'm in the middle of deciding, because I'm in the middle of where I'm confused about what I want to do," she explains.

But there's no question she's ambitious.  And creative, too.  She spends her free time drawing.

"I end up drawing people and flowers and animals," she says.

----

And now, Makayla is looking for a "forever" family.  She says she especially wants a mom:

"A mom means, like -- for me to have a mom is somebody who's there for me and somebody who cares about my education.  And somebody who wants me to be in school to learn and become what I want to become, not somebody who wants me to become something that they were.  I'm just trying to look for a family who has my back and loves me," she says.
