Wednesday's Child: Cami

By Larry Kane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Seventeen-year-old Cami has a smile that can light up a room, and her social workers, Amber Patti and Julie Shermer, say she's a joy to be around.

(Patti:)  "Cami is just a fun, bubbly, sweet young lady. She just has that personality that, when you see her, you know you're going to have a great time."

(Shermer:)  "She's always positive, which I think is a great asset to her."

She's learning to cook in school.

"Last week, we did pizza," she says.  "It was hot pizza. I had pepperoni and cheese."

And she's learning job skills while working at a Goodwill Thrift Shop.

Cami walks with braces and crutches, but that's not standing in her way.

Her social workers say she needs a committed forever family -- one that's willing to stay in contact with Cami's adoptive sister.

For more information about adopting Cami or any other child, go to the National Adoption Center's  web site, www.adopt.org, or call 215-735-9988.
