Weather: Feeling Like Summer
By Geoff Bansen
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's going to feel like summer in the Delaware Valley today.
Skies are currently mixed across the region, with some spots seeing more clouds than others, as a weakening cold front prepares to roll through. Temperatures on the other hand are very similar, already soaring into the upper 70s and low 80s.
In Philadelphia, we expect to come close to 90 later today. The humidity is going to make it feel near oppressive at times. What may help it feel a little better will be a southwesterly breeze that will kick up as the day progresses, further evidence of the front preparing to cross the region. We could see a very spotty shower or storm this afternoon as well, but Tuesday is going to be a primarily dry day.
After today, big changes take place! We return to a spring like feel for the rest if the week. The next three days will be pleasant, with lower humidity, cooler temperatures, and mostly sunny skies. Highs may not hit 70 on Wednesday, with a brisk northwest wind to boot. Clouds begin to move in on Friday, and the next threat of rain comes (unfortunately) just in time for the weekend.
