Weather Blog: Sogging Up
By Carol Erickson
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Don't get lazy in the mild weekend weather. Get out there today in 65 degree temperatures with heavy bags of fertilizer or lime or grass seed or whatever (don't take gardening advice from me...trust me on that) people do in the yard.
The rain follow on Monday (computer estimates from half and in to more than an inch) and that should splatter all the expensive lawn additives into the ground, if not washing away a few of the lighter seeds.
At least you won't have to haul heavy hoses around to water it in yourself or use up our precious water supplies wetting a lawn.
Many of use have discovered that weeds, clippede short and requiring no water, can look almost like a lawn if you drive by fast enough, and it is a lost less work.
