WEATHER BLOG: Monday Rain

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- After a stellar weekend with plenty of sunshine and highs close to average for this time of year, another storm will impact us on Monday.  Clouds will continue to increase Sunday night ahead of the storm.

For Monday morning, expect mainly cloudy skies with temps in the 40s.  Expect the rain to arrive southwest to northeast from 11am-2pm and continuing through the rest of the afternoon, with cooler highs in the mid 50s.

The rain could be heavy at times late afternoon and early evening, slowing down the evening commute.  A thunderstorm is even possible Monday night as a warm front moves through the region.

Expect the rain to taper off to showers at night and come to an end very early Tuesday morning.  Rainfall amounts could range from .5 - 1" across the region.

Skies will clear during the morning on Tuesday and it will be breezy with milder highs in the mid 60s.  The weather will be much nicer for the Phillies home open on Tuesday at 4:05pm.  Expect temps in the mid 60s with partly sunny skies and breezy conditions at first pitch.
