WATCH: Penn State Football Player Anthony Zettel Tackles A Tree
By Ray Boyd
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- So, it's the off-season and you're trying to come up with ways to show off how strong you are. Penn State defensive tackle Anthony Zettel won't have any opponents to demonstrate that strength on for the next few months.
It looks like he had an idea. Was it a good one? You be the judge of that.
Tackling a tree has to be a convincing showing of sheer strength. Right?
Uprooting that tree definitely sent the message, but it wasn't like Zettel's play didn't already do the talking for him.
He had eight sacks last season after transitioning from a defensive end to defensive tackle. He also made 17 tackles in the backfield. He is projected to be one of the nation's top defenders in 2015 and was named All Big-Ten in 2014.
The scene was shared on the Instagram account of Zettel's teammate, Jordan Dudas.
It's just a wild guess, but tackling trees probably is not on the list for James Franklin's off-season conditioning regiment. With that said, at least Zettel displayed proper tackling technique.
