Volunteer Firefighter Dies After Falling From Helicopter In Delaware
GEORGETOWN, Del. (CBS) – An investigation is underway after a volunteer firefighter is killed during a Delaware Air Rescue team training exercise.
The accident happened Monday evening at Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown.
Police say Tim McClanahan, 46, of Lewes, fell from a helicopter.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say the investigation is in the early stages and the FAA will be the lead investigative agency with the assistance of the Delaware State Police.
