Victim Identified In Road Rage Shooting, Gunman Still On The Run
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Police are searching for a gunman wanted in connection with a deadly road rage shooting after a man was found in the street outside of his home, shot in the head and torso.
The shooting occurred on the 2800 block of North 5th Street around 8:30 pm on Friday night (See previous story).
According to police, the victim was fighting with his wife in the middle of the road. When cars began to back up, an angry driver stuck in the traffic got out of the car and shot the man in the street.
The victim has been identified as Antonio Pedraza, 32.
When police arrived to the scene, they found Pedraza laying on the front ramp leading to the steps of his home, unconscious.
Pedraza was pronounced dead at the scene just after 9pm.
Police say two shots were fired from a semi-automatic gun. Two spent shell casings were found close to where the victim collapsed, indicating Pedraza was shot at close range.
According to police and witnesses, the gunman fled the scene in a green minivan.
The minivan was found abandoned at 500 West Indiana Avenue. Police are treating the minivan as a crime scene, searching for fingerprints and anything that will lead to the suspect.
Authorities are also looking through surveillance camera footage from both sides of North 5th Street.
