Threat at Upper Moreland Township schools found not credible

WILLOW GROVE, Pa. (CBS) - All Upper Moreland Township schools and offices will reopen Tuesday, weather permitting, after the district found a threatening voicemail over the weekend not credible.

The district closed all schools and offices Monday after Superintendent Dr. Sue Elliott said a voicemail left on the transportation department's phone line over the weekend made a "serious threat of violence" toward the district.

In a message posted later Monday on the district's website and social media pages, Elliott said township police believe the threat originated from students playing online games.

"There is no threat of violence to our students, staff, or schools. We are grateful to the UMPD for their support and dedication to safety in our schools," Elliott said. "… I encourage you to monitor your children's online activity and speak with them about the dangers of sharing information via gaming and other online platforms."
