Union With Mid-Week Match-Up With Red Bulls
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union will play their first mid-week game of the season on Wednesday night as they visit the New York Red Bulls.
Philadelphia is in the midst of playing three matches in eight days. This past Saturday they played Real Salt Lake to a 2-2 draw in a very entertaining match in Chester. Following this battle with New York, the Union will be back home this coming Saturday to host Houston.
So far this season, Philadelphia is 1-1-4, the 7 points has them tied for fourth in MLS Eastern Conference with D.C. United and New England.
New York is still looking for its first win in 2014. The Red Bulls, who captured the Supporters' Shield for having the best regular season record in 2013, bring an 0-2-4 ledger into this match.
Philadelphia is 0-5-1, all-time, inside Red Bull Arena (that includes U.S. Open Cup action).
