Union Lose To The Columbus Crew
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ethan Finlay had two goals and an assist, Justin Meram and Kei Kamara each added a goal, and the Columbus Crew beat the Philadelphia Union 4-1 on Saturday night.
Kamara, Finlay and Meram each scored in the first half to help the Crew (3-2-2) build a 3-0 lead. Finlay added an insurance goal on a breakaway in the 73rd minute.
Kamara, in his 200th career MLS game, opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he settled Finlay's cross with a chest trap and blasted a left-footed shot into the net. It was his fifth goal of the season, tying him with Octavio Rivero for the league lead.
Finlay finished Waylon Francis' cross with one touch in the 32nd minute and Meram drove 40 yards by himself to score in the 44th.
Eric Ayuk scored on a header for the Union (1-5-3) in the 64th minute. The Crew had gone 272 minutes without allowing a goal.
