Union Host Real Salt Lake Saturday

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Union return to Chester on Saturday and they will face a tough challenge as Real Salt Lake pays a visit.

Philadelphia is 1-1-3 so far this season. Last time out on Saturday, the Union played Chicago to a 2-2 draw. This game was a true emotional roller coaster as Philadelphia led 2-1 late, only to see Chicago net an equalizer in the 86th minute. Then it looked like the Union would get nothing out of the contest when Chicago was awarded a penalty kick at the end of stoppage time, but Zac MacMath brilliantly knocked away Mike Magee attempt and the follow, salvaging the point.

Real Salt Lake has been a consistent force for years in Major League Soccer. They are the defending Western Conference champs and they will bring a 2-0-3 record into Saturday's match. Last time out they played Sporting KC to a scoreless draw.

Last season, the Union played Real Salt lake to a 2-2 draw out in Utah. Sebastien Le Toux and Conor Casey scored for the Union in that one.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Union TV commentator Peter Pappas, a former star goalie at Philadelphia University and with the Philadelphia Kixx, to break down Saturday's match and touch on several other topics including the play of MacMath and the recent trade of Jack McInerney.
