Man Charged In Shooting Deaths Of Brother, Sister Inside Poconos Apartment: Police

MOUNT POCONO, Pa. (AP) -- A man has been charged in the shooting deaths of a brother and sister in an apartment in eastern Pennsylvania. Thirty-eight-year-old Tyrone Johnson Jr. is charged with criminal homicide, child endangerment, reckless endangering and a firearms offense.

The Pocono Mountain Regional Police department said officers were called to the Mount Pocono unit just after 2:30 a.m. Friday and found Johnson wounded. Officers checking the apartment then found the bodies of 28-year-old Amir Moore and 29-year-old Shadea Moore, both with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police Chief Chris Wagner said six people -- four adults and two children -- were home at the time.

Police allege that Johnson told them as he was being evacuated from the scene that he had taken LSD and "saw something that he shouldn't have," and later told a detective that he shot the siblings and may have tried to shoot himself. Police said the alleged statements were consistent with the evidence at the scene.

Police said Johnson and Shadea Moore lived in the unit and Amir Moore was visiting from Carbondale.

Court documents don't list an attorney for Johnson and a listed number in his name couldn't be found Saturday.
