Two Killed In Separate Camden Shootings

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say two fatal shootings in Camden don't appear to be related.

Camden County prosecutors say both shootings occurred early Sunday, about two hours apart.

The first was reported shortly before 4:40 a.m. at Front and Vine streets. Officers could not find a victim, but soon learned that 24-year-old city resident Armir Lee Thomas-Money had been taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.

Thomas-Money, who had been shot once, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The second shooting occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. at Louis and Chase streets. Officers found 20-year-old city resident Wesley Nelms on the porch of a Chase Street home.

Nelms, who had been shot once, was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later.

Motives for both shooting remain under investigation.
