PA airport reopens after suspicious item found in checked bag
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (CBS) -- Operations at the University Park Airport have returned to normal after a security scare Friday night closed it for several hours.
Friday night, officials evacuated the airport after TSA found a suspicious item in a checked bag, which was on a flight bound for Chicago.
Earlier today (03/03) a suspicious item was detected in a piece of luggage at the University Park Airport. Out of an abundance of caution, the general passenger terminal was evacuated and the explosives device team is on site. https://t.co/4eHmsjpuRu

Local police, bomb technicians and canines swept the terminal.
The TSA later determined there was nothing of danger.
Penn State University says buses brought about 100 passengers to campus where they provided shelter and food.
