1. Comedian Tracey Morgan Critically Injured In NJ Turnpike Accident
Comedian Tracey Morgan is intensive care after being critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. The 45-year-old star of "30 Rock" was in a limo when a Walmart tractor-trailer slammed into the back of his vehicle, leaving the comedian with a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs and killing his friend and mentor James McNair.
The tractor-trailer driver, who was charged in the fatal crash, has pleaded not guilty.
2. Paula Deen Going Digital For Her Big Comeback
Don't call it a comeback! Actually, in this case, it may very well be a comeback.
Almost a year after Paula Deen's admission that she used racial slurs in the past, a new company has been created to launch a comeback for the controversial cooking star.
On Wednesday, Paula Deen Ventures, announced its plans to create a digital, subscription-based service available on computers, smartphones, and tablets titled "The Paula Deen Network" that will showcase unscripted programs centered around cooking and recipes.
Actor, screenwriter, and civil rights-activist Ruby Dee has died at age 91 according to her daughter. The Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actress best known for her civil-rights activism and performances in both the stage and film versions of "A Raisin In the Sun," passed away at her home in New Rochelle, NY on Wednesday night.
4. Kelly Rowland Pregnant With First Child
It looks like another member of Destiny's Child is expecting a child of her own. Kelly Rowland, lifelong friend of Beyoncé, has announced that she is pregnant with her first child on none other than Instagram in a photo picturing a pair of men's Nike Jordans next to an infant's pair of the same brand shoe, Rowland wrote "I'll be stuntin' like my daddy…" in the post, referring to her new husband Tim Witherspoon whom she married in May in a private ceremony in Costa Rica.
It shouldn't be too long before we start seeing the perfection that is a play date between Rowland's child and Beyoncé's Blue Ivy Carter.
5. Broadway Celebrates The Tonys
It was a star-studded night on Sunday as the Tony Awards descended on Radio City Music Hall in New York. From jaw-dropping performances to moving speeches, this year's Tony's were beyond memorable. Host Hugh Jackman started the night off right, bringing in the high energy that was carried throughout the show with performances from the casts of "After Midnight," "Aladdin," and "Rocky," while major wins came for Broadway stars Audra McDonald, Bryan Cranston, and Neil Patrick Harris.
