WORCESTER Twp., Pa. (CBS) -- First responders rushed to rescue two women trapped after an accident in Montgomery County.
Chopper 3 was over the scene of the accident involving a tractor trailer on the Northeast Extension.
Pennsylvania State Police say the accident happened in the southbound lanes at mile marker 25.2 in Worcester Township.
State Police say a UPS truck was traveling southbound when the front of the truck caught the bumper of a car while changing lanes. Police say the vehicle got caught underneath the tractor trailer.
Police say a 55-year-old driver and a 78-year-old passenger were inside the car.
Police say the driver had to be extricated with mechanics, while the passenger was rescued without mechanics.
They were taken to the hospital. Police say they suffered moderate injuries.
"It was completely out of my control and then everything was just black and all of a sudden the car just stopped," driver Cathrenia Moening told Eyewitness News.
"Everything was happening so fast and I just knew there was nothing I could do," Moening said.
Pennsylvania State Police were assisted by the Skippack Fire Company, the Towamencin Fire Company, and the Upper Gwynedd Fire Company.
