Tough Challenge On Tap For Union In Seattle
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Goals have been tough to come by as of late for the Philadelphia Union.
Philadelphia has been shutout in each of its last two matches (scoreless draw with Houston on 4/19, 1-0 loss at Montreal on 4/26), and the only tally in the match before that (2-1 loss at RBNY on 4/16) came on a penalty shot.
The Union will try to get things on track on Saturday night, but it won't be easy, as they visit a talented Seattle Sounders squad.
While Philadelphia is 1-3-5, Seattle is rolling with a 5-2-1 ledger and their 16 points have them tied for first in the very competitive Western Conference. The Sounders are led by Clint Dempsey, who was named MLS Player of the Month for April after scoring seven goals and adding two assists in four matches.
Last season these two teams met in May, in Chester, the match finishing in a 2-2 draw.
KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Union TV analyst Peter Pappas about what to look for in this match with the Sounders.
