SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. (AP) — A Pennsylvania toddler who fell about 20 feet from a second-floor balcony at a Jersey Shore motel remains hospitalized in stable condition.

But authorities say it's not clear how the accident occurred.

Seaside Heights police say the 2-year-old girl from Reading fell around 8 p.m. Saturday at the Skyview Manor Motel. The child was conscious and crying when she was found, but further details on her injuries were not disclosed.

The girl's name has not been released.

No charges have been filed in the incident. But authorities say the investigation is ongoing
