Sixers Select Payton 10th Overall; Reportedly Deal Him For Dario Saric
PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) -- Following their selection of Joel Embiid at number 3, the Sixers added Elfrid Payton at number 10. Payton comes to the Sixers by way of Louisiana-Lafayette.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Sixers will flip Payton to the Orlando Magic for Dario Saric.
The international prospect recently signed a multi-year deal with a Turkish team and most likely will not join the Sixers for two seasons. Saric was the MVP of the Adriatic League last season.
For Payton, the Sixers will receive Saric, a 2015 second round pick and a future first round selection according to media reports. All trades and details will be finalized on Friday after the draft is complete.
