'The Oval' Set To Return To Philadelphia For 2014
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – On a day that feels like spring, there's some great news for Philadelphians anxious to head outdoors.
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation has announced that it's bringing back The Oval for 2014.
The Oval, which was created in the eight acres near Eakins Oval at the Ben Franklin Parkway last summer, was home to food trucks, family-friendly programming, drive-in movies, fashion events and even a beer garden through October 2013, when it shut down for the season.
This year, programming kicks off with a Philly Tech Week event, Arcade @ The Oval, slated for April 4th. Food trucks and video games are expected to be the focus.
According to Philly Parks & Rec, other 2014 events include an open-air Farm Festival with crafts, jewelry, clothing and more, as well as movie screenings, weekend festivals and fall fashion events.
