NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Ten men are under arrest in Montgomery County snagged in a sting operation targeting human trafficking and the commercial sex trade in the Montgomeryville area.

Prosecutors say it's not like they weren't warned. Nearly two months ago they announced they were going after the "johns" and were targeting local hotels in Upper Merion and Montgomeryville. The latest sting resulted in ten men charged with patronizing prostitutes, a misdemeanor. First Assistant DA Kevin Steele is a little surprised given all the publicity.

"The folks that are working in the communities do not want this in their area," Steele said. "Hopefully this will get the message out that this type of conduct will not be tolerated."

On Friday, law enforcement officers placed an online advertisement offering prostitution services. They sat back and waited and say the ad generated hundreds of text messages and phone calls from men who thought they were going to meet a prostitute. They agreed to pay $100 prior to their arrest.
