Suspect Caught On Tape Using Machete To Rob 7-Eleven In East Oak Lane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for a suspect who used a machete during the robbery of a convenience store in Philadelphia.

The robbery happened at about 6 a.m. on October 19th at the 7-Eleven on N. 5th Street in the city's East Oak Lane section.

Surveillance video captured the suspect entering the store and pulling out a machete.

The suspect then went behind the store's counter and ordered an employee to open the cash registers.

After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran out of the store and was last seen walking north on 5th Street then west on Cheltenham Avenue.

The suspect is described a black male in his late teen to early 20s with a thin build. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored bandana that covered the lower portion of his face, black gloves, black pants and black/white sneakers.
