'Supernatural' Star Jensen Ackles Will Play A New Character In Season 14

Philadelphia (CW Philly) — Supernatural fans have seen Jensen Ackles portray Dean Winchester for 13 seasons, but viewers are about to see the actor play a new character.

Back in March, Ackles talked to Entertainment Weekly about the opportunity to play someone new in season 14. 

"Over the years I've only ever had to just play Dean, whereas Jared has had to be Lucifer and Gadreel and all these different actual characters other than Sam. That is all going to change soon. Something big's coming," Ackles said.

While he didn't elaborate on the new character, he did tease fans with an Instagram post in April. Check it out below!

Supernatural co-showrunner Andrew Dabb also dropped some hints about Ackle's new character. 

"Obviously after 13 years, Jensen's very used to playing Dean and is amazing at it. In terms of who the [new] character is, I will say that it's a character that will be both unexpected and kind of a long time coming," Dabb said.
