Super Bowl 50: Panthers Open As Four-Point Favorites Vs. Broncos

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers have opened as four-point favorites over Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

According to VegasInsider.com, three sports books -- William Hill, Wynn LV, and CG Technology -- all list the Panthers as four-point favorites. The former two books set the over/under at 45.5, while CG Technology lists an over/under of 45.

The Panthers are coming are coming off a 49-15 blowout win over the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game, while the Broncos defeated the New England Patriots 20-18 thanks to a dominant defensive effort.

According to ESPN.com, $115.9 million was bet on the Super Bowl at Nevada sports books last year. The books have earned a profit in all but two of the last 26 Super Bowls.

Super Bowl 50 will be played on Sunday, February 7th at Levi's Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area, home of the 49ers.
