Philadelphia Eagles 2025 Super Bowl parade route, timing, road closures and more
Get ready for a parade to celebrate the Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia. The Eagles went without an NFL championship for 58 years and a Super Bowl for 51 years. The drought ended in 2018 with Super Bowl LII, and it took the Eagles just seven years to win their second Super Bowl in franchise history.
Philadelphia dethroned another dynasty by beating the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday. The Birds prevented Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs from becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowls. Now, the city is gearing up for an official celebration on Friday.
City officials are preparing for more than 1 million people to attend the parade.
Here's what we know about the 2025 Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia.
When is the Super Bowl parade 2025 in Philadelphia?
Hours after the Eagles' Super Bowl win, the team hinted in a social media post shared at 1:24 a.m. Monday, the parade could be Friday. Well, it's now official.
City officials announced Tuesday that the parade will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, Valentine's Day.
Winter weather is expected in the Philadelphia region this week, including Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Snow could start falling Tuesday evening and continue overnight into Wednesday morning. Another round of winter weather could arrive Wednesday evening, bringing a wintry mix. The CBS Philadelphia NEXT Weather Team will provide frequent updates on the forecast.
However, Friday is expected to be partly cloudy, with a high of 37 degrees and a low of 26.
In their first Super Bowl win, Philly overthrew the New England Patriots.
Hundreds of thousands of fans jammed city streets on Feb. 8, 2018, for the Birds' first Super Bowl parade when Jason Kelce delivered an epic rant on the art museum steps. Kelce retired before the 2024 season, but it's a good bet he'll be part of this one, too.
What time is the Super Bowl parade?
The official parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Broad and Pattison, but a cavalcade of about 30 school buses carrying special guests will first travel up Broad Street and along the parade route.
The celebration outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. The city and Eagles organization have not said which players and staff are expected to speak.
The program is slated to end around 3:15 p.m.
What is the 2025 Super Bowl parade route in Philadelphia?
Ahead of that press conference, a map of the route was displayed in City Hall — and it's the same route the parade followed after the Birds won Super Bowl LII over the New England Patriots.
- The parade will start at the NovaCare Complex at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue
- Buses will continue traveling up Broad Street for about three miles to City Hall
- The parade will turn and continue around the west side of City Hall up toward Love Park
- After passing Love Park, the route continues onto the Ben Franklin Parkway
- The final leg of the parade will travel up the Ben Franklin Parkway to the Philadelphia Museum of Art
Crews began installing barricades and porta potties along the Ben Franklin Parkway on Monday. At the end of the parade route, Eagles players and coaches are expected to deliver some epic victory speeches to Eagles nation on the steps of the museum.
If the 2018 Eagles championship parade was any indication, we could expect hundreds of thousands — maybe more than a million fans to overtake Center City on Friday.
City leaders say they've been preparing for the event for some time now and are ready for hundreds of thousands of people to cheer on the Birds. Officials say more than 50 agencies were involved in the planning process, and police officers will line the parade route.
Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel also called on fans to do their part.
"What we cannot do is mar it with negative behavior that takes away and distracts," Bethel said. "We are going to be on the world's stage, ladies and gentlemen."
How to get to the 2025 Super Bowl parade
Philadelphia strongly recommends that fans use SEPTA and public transportation if they're going to the parade, particularly the Market-Frankford and Broad Street subway lines. Trains on these lines are scheduled to run every 6-8 minutes starting at 5 a.m. Friday. SEPTA says buses "on and around Broad Street" will be detoured late Thursday night.
SEPTA announced that rides on both subway lines will be free and covered by Philadelphia native Kevin Hart's tequila brand Gran Coramino.
SEPTA said Regional Rail will also operate on a special schedule, and a limited number of stations will be open on Friday to consolidate travel. The full schedule and station map can be found online or in SEPTA's app.
Customers can use their Key cards or buy a special one-day pass in advance that costs $10.
"We ask for patience. We can't get everybody in at the same time," SEPTA interim general manager Scott Sauer said, "and we can't get everybody out at the same time. Consider spacing out your return trip. After the parade ends, you might want to go grab something to eat, you might want to have a drink, but that'll give us time to manage crowds and move things out safely."
If you're coming from New Jersey, PATCO will be running a modified schedule. The full schedule can be found online.
PATCO expects more than four times the number of travelers than what the system normally sees on a weekday.
Beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, only westbound trains will operate from four stations: Lindenwold, Woodcrest, Ferry Avenue and City Hall. The trains will leave every 15 minutes. Then, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m., eastbound-only trains will operate from 9th and 10th and Locust streets, stopping at the same four locations.
Regular PATCO fares will remain in place.

Will Philly schools be closed on Super Bowl parade day?
School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Tony Watlington confirmed Tuesday during the city's press conference that schools will be closed on Friday for the parade.
All Philadelphia parochial schools will also be closed Friday. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia says suburban high schools will be closed while suburban parish and regional Catholic elementary schools will be open as determined by their local administrations.
The Community College of Philadelphia will also be closed Friday in honor of the Super Bowl parade and because of street closures. Classes, work and school activities are canceled. However, this doesn't apply to students who are scheduled for clinical rotations or off-site practicum/internships.
Other school districts, including the Gloucester City School District in South Jersey, are starting to announce they will also close Friday for the parade.
"We recognize the significance of this historic event and understand that many in our community will want to take part in the celebration," the district said.
Temple University also announced all United States campuses will be closed and classes will be canceled on Friday.
Philadelphia courts are closed, but do I have to report for jury duty?
Philadelphia courts will close Friday to celebrate the Eagles' Super Bowl victory. The courts say that all in-person and virtual cases scheduled for Friday have been rescheduled beginning Monday, Feb. 17.
Anyone who has been called for jury duty on Friday, Feb. 14, should not report — the courts say it is excused.
